How to get those sexy flat victoria secret model abs?   9 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in flat abs

How in the world do those model’s get those sexy flat abs, with all their curves still intact? I am just wondering do they spent hours and hours in the gym, starve themselves? How long does it take them to accomplish tose abs?

I am just a guy so i don’t know about the victoria secret abs and all but i do a ab work out everyday which has gotten me a six pack so if you want to look sexy with rock hard abs heres a good work out you could do. Do this once everyday and it only takes about 15 minutes. Start with around 30-50 crunches then do 30-50 bicycles, then do v-sits of about 30-50 i usually do 50 to get a good burn, then obliques 20 each side look it up if you aren’t sure what it is, and then do 6-inches leg drops of about 20 and that is where you lay on your back and raise you feet 6 inches off the ground and the fly your legs up to the ceiling and the back down ( those really put on the burn), and finally end it with 30 second planks. Wow it is alot to right down but although it seems like a lot of excercises it takes no time at all. Hav Fun!!

abs diet causing me to be tired and hungry?   6 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in diet for abs

I;ve been doing the abs diet, cutting back on carbs and eating protien. I’m always hungry and tired, I swim for an hour 5x a week and lift weights 5x a week. whats wrong?

Hey t m, the answer to your problem is immediately obvious if you know anything about diet and exercise. The body gets its first level of energy from sugars. Sugars are a carbohydrate. Endurance athletes do ‘carbohydrate loading’ by eating spaghetti and chocolates so they have enough energy for their muscles to work.
Protein is a tissue building substance which we get more than enough of in our usual American/Western diet. The down side of protein intake is that it causes ketones which are very toxic to the body and are a large chain molecule and require a lot of water to help get them clear of the kidneys. This water is taken out of body tissues and the body is heading for dehydration if there is too much protein in the diet.
Your lack of energy is simply because you are not taking in enough carbohydrates – you are simply running out of fuel. You are making yourself even more sluggish by taking necessary tissue fluid to flush the protein (ketones) out of your kidneys. When a body builder is entering a competition he will start to step up his protein intake to take advantage of the lost body water effect to give him that ripped look but as soon as the competition is over he’ll greatly reduce his protein intake to minimise kidney damage.
Advice? Step up the carbs intake for energy. Take both simple (sugars) and a lot of complex (veggies) and really back way off the protein shakes/pills/etc. You’ll notice a significant change in a day or two once your body sorts itself out again.

Abs Workout?   3 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in abs workout

I used to be fat but now that ive lost a lot of weight i dont want to be skinny. i want to have abs. i want my abs to be really visible and a strong chest and core. Can you give me some workouts to make my abs stick out more. i dont want to look like a professional weightlifter. i just want a soccer player body.
ive been doing crounches almost everyday for a year and i still lose weight and dont build muscle. is their types of food which will get me leaner?

If you are able to join a health club, the trainers there should be able to help you concentrate on the core. Also, I get a lot of input from Men’s Health magazine and I’m a WOMAN!!!! They have some really good exercises to work on every part of the body. Also have great recipes.

I’ve seen infomercials of like "the bean" and "the ab chair" but what is the best equipment to give me a flat stomach quicker? Or what video would be good to use? (I don’t plan on spending more than 80dollars.)

(Fitness question) My abs suck, any suggestions of how to improve them?   4 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in abs fitness

I’m a devoted soccer player, and pretty tone. Except for my abs. Its rather aggravating to have upper body strength, and lower body strength, but to not have strong ab muscles to connect it.
What are the best ways to exercise your abs? Especially ways that result in a 6-pack :P

sit ups and stomach crunches man!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I get a flat stomach while in a wheelchair?   4 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in flat stomach

I keep reading about cardio exercises and how that’ll help get a flat stomach. But those don’t seem to apply to people with wheelchairs. I can’t get on a treadmill or a bicycle and I can’t "step up." I am paralyzed from the waist down completely. What do I do instead?

1. People in wheelchairs need a slightly different diet. It is really easy to pack on more calories than you need if you eat ‘normal’ diets. A dietician or nutritionist with experience in this area can help.

2. Any exercise is better than nothing. Pushups, small barbells, chin ups, swimming, pushing the chair uphill, etc. Look for the harder way to do things. Get your heartrate up for several minutes in a row several times a week- the more the better.

For some interesting workout ideas, search for ‘Kettleballs", "Shovelglove", and so on. Each of these will probably take you to other helpful links- like the water tube and more. You can also make a great home gym from bungee cord and other stuff laying around.

3. ‘Flat stomachs’ are partially a scam. The stomach of a healthy, fit, normal person is generally not flat, but we have become convinced that the stomachs of fitness models is the ‘norm’, when it is really a little bit of a freak of genetics. A ’6 pack’ is even less likely for most of us- we just don’t have the genes.

Are crunches good enough to get a flat stomach?   8 comments

Posted at 9:39 am in flat abdominals

I have stress fractures from running, so dont tell me to do cardio.
I am fifteen years old, I have cellulite on my upper abdominals and other parts of my stomach, how can i get rid of this? I’ve been doing crunches everyday for the past three months it does not seem to work.

You can have a flat stomach only by reducing fat. You should control your diet. Eat carbs and protein and avoid fats. Only use good fat sources to a limited level. Continue the crunches & also add some extra exercises which can’t hurt you.
