Cotton Club Gala Raises Funds for Local Children’s Hospital no comments

The 2nd Annual Cotton Club Gala was a huge success, raising invaluable funds for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation through the Children’s Miracle Network, thanks to the support of the Calgary Marriott Hotel and RE/MAX.
The Calgary Marriott sponsored the Cotton Club Gala by providing food and beverage, event service, and volunteers on the event planning committee. The Gala raised $ 46,000, which will go directly to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The funds will support the ‘Greatest Needs’ list at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, including equipment, research and programming.
The success of this event is attributed to the countless hours the volunteers from both the Calgary Marriott and RE/MAX put into the planning and execution of this event. “It is one of our core values to contribute to our community and to support a very special place – the Alberta Children’s Hospital,” says Joseph Clohessy, General Manager of the Calgary hotel.

The Cotton Club Gala is a fundraising event based on the famous Harlem Jazz Club of the 20′s and 30′s. The evening featured Johnny Summers and his 17-piece orchestra playing the music of such greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington, among others. Guests were dressed in period attire and treated to an incredible cocktail reception featuring dishes from the original Cotton Club menu.
The Calgary Marriott is looking forward to sponsoring another successful event in 2009.
