The Truth About Getting Flat Abs – Is it Possible to Get a Six Pack Abs?

You hate seeing your figure in front of the mirror? You dread the idea of taking off your shirt in public? You always try to avoid social gatherings or meeting people? You have to change your wardrobe quite often? If you answered yes to one of the above, don’t worry, you are not alone. I was just like you some time back. Having a big stomach, jutting out and could be spotted from miles away. I avoided social gatherings as much as possible. I felt so low on confidence that it was unknowingly affecting my self esteem. Even I had to spend extra cash to maintain my wardrobe due to this reason and we, obese folks are more prone to sickness than our skinny counterparts.

I have been doing crunches for a long time, but my dream of getting flat abs seems to fade day after day. I have seen the advertisements with models displaying six pack abs and have been after this dream for most of my life time. But still not even closer to six pack abs.

I now understand that I have been after the biggest myth in the weight loss industry. I have always though that I can do crunches and get rid of the fat in by stomach area. But now I understand that you can never do exercises to a specific area in your body and get rid of the fat in that area. It has to always be a approach of getting rid of fat in your whole body rather than a single area.

The other reason is flat abs are always nearly impossible to get. Though models in advertisements display six pack abs, they are always on a diet and exercise regime and have sacrificed a lot of their time and energy to achieve it. But for busy folks like you and I, having to work in a corporate 9-5 job environment six pack abs are nearly impossible. I am not trying to discourage you and if you could sacrifice the necessary time and energy it is gettable. But I am talking about the average busy corporate guy. One thing more about six pack abs; you should have some support from your genes too, to achieve the goal of getting flat abs or six pack abs.

I have now reduced my belly fat to a fairly satisfactory extent. I have given up the six pack abs goal and hope to achieve my new goal of reducing unwelcome fat from my body, especially belly area.
