Review For The Osim Model U-Comfort Massage Chair   no comments

Have you been down to the mall where they have those massage chairs to try out? You know, you see those people laying in them, squirming, relaxing and looking like they are enjoying themselves. I am also the curious type and wanted to try one of those massaging chairs for myself. I saw one was open and went for it. I ended up in the Osim uComfort massage chair.

First I had to find the remote for massage chair and then figure out how to start the chair. The remote control has an LCD that displays an icon. The remote fits nicely in the palm of your hand but is more about the size of the TV remote.

Upon a quick examination of the remote, I went for one of the three automatic programs. With the push of a button, the chair sprang into action. A host of things started to happen in parallel.

Right away I noticed a lot of things going on with the chair. Many things initialize in parallel with a massage chair. I felt things starting on my back, others on my buttocks and yet others on my calves.

I noticed that the massage chair first made a pass up and down my back. There were no massage movements except for the mechanism going first all the way down and then all the way back up before starting. After which, it sprung into action.

As the thing was going up and down my back, the lower half of my body was being fully massage. I felt good sensations as compression massage was applied to my buttocks, thighs and calves. This was starting to feel soothing and relaxing.

Next, the rollers in the back started to make some massage movements. The program started working my shoulders down to my lower back. Different massage movements like rapid tapping and soft kneading interchanged up and down my back.

Something just didn’t seem right. I was sitting in the chair getting the massage but it wasn’t quite comfortable. I went for the remote control and saw there was a power recline.

I identified what looked like the chair back recline. I pushed the button and away it went. I was starting to recline backwards and realized my legs weren’t following.

It was nice to be reclining backwards in the chair. However, my legs were not following me. I took another look at the remote. I saw that there was a leg rest icon with an up arrow. My legs now began their upward journey.

As the leg rest shot upward, I reached the right point with the chair back. I stopped the chair back and continued raising the leg rest, all the while getting a full body massage. Now I was getting to a more comfortable position.

I have to say that the lower part of the massage chair was more effective than the upper part of the chair. My legs were being squeezed firmly providing relief. The thighs and buttocks were being worked over. My back just wasn’t feeling it. I tried another of the full body programs.

Switching programs just kind of did more of the same. There was a third program and I went for it. Momentarily, it changed the patterns of movement on my back. But yet even this third program did not really feel like it was massaging strongly my back. I looked around and saw that I was in the Osim uComfort massage chair.

Having just realized that maybe the Osim uComfort massage chair is not for me, I pressed the off button. The recliner began moving in different ways. The chair back sprung upward and the leg rest downward. As I returned to the upright position, I noticed another empty Osim massage chair. Not losing the momentum of returning upright I sprung forward toward the empty Osim massage chair.
